fluorine
The most important ingredient that protects against tooth decay & prevents the build-up of bacteria on the tooth surface. Reduces acid production, prevents descaling and enamel dissolution. Blocks the enzymes of cariogenic bacteria. Approved for use in toothpastes in specific quantities. The content is determined in% of fluorine ions or fluoride ions in ppm. 1,400 ppm of fluoride ions = 0.14% fluorine(ppm - parts per million). In toothpastes, it may be found in the form of sodium fluoride, sodium monofluorophosphate and amine monofluorophosphate.
